Stage 6 :: Populate & Launch
We now have a fully working website, but at present it has no actual content, this is the next step.
In most cases, where you have one, we can migrate content from your
existing website or even introduce content from your hard copy communication literature and use it in your new website.
It's often a daunting task to write copy from scratch for many pages of a website
so this is a great way of getting the ball rolling.
Client Supplied Text & Images
There is some copy and content which is, of course, specialist to your company and sector.
We can accept text files in several formats but
ideally Microsoft Word, a PDF or simply raw text in an email will be sufficient.
Images - we can open and edit most image formats. We also have
the facility to scan images from hard copy. A digital camera and a good
eye for photography is useful if you have it, but for professional
results we recommend professional photography. Again we have been
working brand, products and imagery for over 15 years and can advise if
you do not have a resource in place or if you need additional shots for
the site.
Content Population
Content will be added along with images
and any formatting styles by us into the CMS or database or directly into each page.
For e-Commerce based websites which can include many thousands of
products, we normally enter an agreed number of products for launch,
depending
on budget. We can add them all for you if you are busy and have limited
in-house resources, but you will have the functionality and training to
complete the process in-house if you wish.
Website Launch
As the launch date approaches, all content on the website will be
given a final check. Although we can gain a good understanding of the
specific product or industry the website is targetted at, we will never
be able to match your indepth knowledge and expertise, so you will need
to give the website a good read through. Finally - on your approval the
site will be made 'live' - Congratulations, your website has launched. Now the real work starts...
