Stage 5 :: Implementation
Ok, now we're into coding, servers and all things geeky... ;-)
Domain Names
We can book one or more domain names on your behalf, or if you
already have an existing domain name you can point this to your new
website with us shortly before launch. Until this time a temporary
domain/url will be used for development purposes.
Web-Hosting
There are 2 options for web-hosting, each of which will depend on the requirements and specifications already agreed upon.

Web-Applications
Any underlying technology which will be used to power your website
will be installed and tested. This is generally a Content Management
System,
an eCommerce System, a production tracking and ticketing system, an SMS
alert system, recruitment search and selection system or just about
anything that is database based. In order to keep costs to a minimum we
utilise, where possible, existing software frameworks (pieces of
pre-made code that undertake specific tasks) to avoid re-inventing the
wheel. Other required scripts will
be sourced, written and installed and the relevant licences purchased
where necessary. Templates
Most of our projects are database driven using a CMS and are based on a number of brand templates. These templates will need to be planned and coded for
each website to display your content in a consistent 'on-brand' way.
This enables you and your team to update the website in-house without
having to concentrate on what the page looks like - the template
handles it all for them.
Working Model
At this stage of the development we demonstrate to you
a 'working model' of your website. We think of this as a wire frame
model or the 'bones' of the site. There are minimal graphics and only
test content but for the first time you will be able to
see the working structure of the website, press buttons, test search
features, order products, raise tickets and get a good idea of how
everything works.
Again - only when you are completely happy that everything is on track do we move forward...
